Tonight, both Vidya and I were not particularly hungry, and wanted something light to eat. As we drove down the road from Kothaguda to Gachibowli, we came across Toastyz, and decided to give it a try. It was a small place, with one table inside and two outside. It was manned by two friendly and efficient guys. The menu was pretty extensive, toasted subs being the specialty. They also had salads, soups, hot and cold beverages and desserts.
Vidya had a mushroom soup, which came with its own edible bread bowl, and a latte, while I had a Honey Swiss Club (a toasted sub with crisp veggies, sliced chicken ham, chicken sausages and chicken salami layered over a flavored bread with honey mustard sauce) and a capuccino.
Both of us really enjoyed the food. Vidya found her soup to be very tasty and mildly spiced, and the bread bowl was a delight to eat – soft inside with a thin crackly crust. The toasted sub was delicious, and it was all I could to to keep myself from getting another one! The coffees were excellent – definitely one of the better coffees we’ve had in India. The next time someone wants real coffee, I know where I’m taking them! ToastyZ is definitely a place both of us are going back to.
The food, while not really inexpensive, was not very expensive either. Our meal cost us Rs. 250 – definitely a small price to pay. We also found out that they would deliver at our place in out-of-the-way Hafeezpet – a first for any food delivery outlet!
